You may have heard people talking about a gratitude journal or a morning, gratitude ritual. I have followed this practice consistently since 2020 and it has improved my life incredibly. Maybe you might have had these same benefits if you tried. If you haven’t, would you be willing to have an open mind towards it and try it?

Gratitude trains your mind to focus on what’s working

When you take time to list the things that are going well, you realize that there is good in your life. Yes, you might have ups and downs, but there is always something to be grateful for. There might be people with the life you aspire to, but also remember there are people who see your life as their dream life.

Gratitude releases serotonin

The reason why people advice you to express gratitude right when you wake up is that it causes the release of serotonin. It’s a good way to start the day with some feel-good hormones. Morning gratitude rituals also set the tone for your day. Have you ever noticed that if you start the day complaining about what’s wrong, you will see more wrong in your life throughout the day? You might spill food on yourself, be late to a meeting, forget something, and it ends up feeling like a bad day. Whereas if you start off with gratitude, all those things seem like minor inconveniences that don’t necessarily dictate the tone of your day.

Gratitude attracts more reasons to be grateful

Manifestation aside, have you noticed that people who are grateful are easier to work with and people are more drawn to them? This quality attracts more opportunity for the person because opportunities come from people. If you have a reputation of approaching life with gratitude, people are naturally attracted to you and want to help you in any way possible. If you believe in manifestation and the law of attraction, then it’s a no-brainer that if you focus on the good in your life, you will attract better.

Practicing gratitude

You can write 7 or more things you are grateful for every morning. It’s also good to do that at night to end the day right. You could pause during the day and think of something you are grateful for as well.

Question of the day:

  • What are 7 things I am grateful for today?
